Sébastien H. Brousseau

I'm Sébastien H. Brousseau, a Canadian who moved to Thailand in 2004 and never quite left. Twenty-two years later I spend my time on long road trips through places most foreigners miss, eating things I can't always name, and writing it all down in English and French.

This blog is where those journeys live: travel notes from Isaan to the islands, food finds from Phetchaburi to Roi-Et, and the occasional opinion from someone who has watched Thailand change across two decades from a front-row seat.

I'm also a lawyer. For legal work (wills, property, company set-up, divorce), visit ThaiLawOnline.com, my Thai law firm serving expats in English and French since 2004.

    BySebastien 06/04/202307/19/2026

Adventures in Nepal: Why This Country Stays With You There are destinations you visit, enjoy, and leave behind. And then there are places that alter something in you – that stay with you long after you return to ordinary life. For me, Nepal is firmly in the second category. I have made the journey to…

    BySebastien 06/02/202307/19/2026

After many years living in Nakhon Ratchasima, I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants in the city. Korat has a remarkable food scene, from outstanding street food to modern fusion, but if someone asks me where to go for the best traditional Thai food in a beautiful setting, I always say the same name: Ton…

Super Japanese Buffet in Korat – Takeshi Gold

    BySebastien 06/01/202307/19/2026

About a 2 years ago, Takeshi gold opened beside Fat Boy Tavern. I went with the staff for Christmas 2021 and I was really impressed : That is quality and not the traditional buffet. We picked the most expensive one (not sure, I think it was 699 baht) and it’s all you can eat for…

    BySebastien 05/31/202307/19/2026

(written around December 2022) by Sebastien H. Brousseau. Trekking in Nepal. That’s what I wanted to do when I first left Thailand in October 2022. Maybe I lived too long in Isaan. I felt like I needed some fresh air. I spent 3 months in Nepal and I really enjoyed the country, especially Pokhara. I…
