Legal Career
I hold an LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) and a B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) from Montreal university. I trained under Pierre Poupart – one of Canada’s foremost criminal lawyers. I was admitted to the Barreau du Québec. I learned and practiced under both the Civil Law and Common Law traditions.
In 2002, I moved to Asia. After a year in Beijing and one in Guangzhou, I moved to Thailand. Since then, I have accumulated over 20 years of on-the-ground experience with Thai law – working with firms including Siam-Legal and later founding Isaan Lawyer (2007–2021). I currently manage ThaiLawOnline in Bangkok, which aims to be the first Thai law firm to integrate AI for client efficiency.
I hold permanent residency in Thailand – a status I write about from first-hand experience. My practice areas include:
- Divorce in Thailand – Thai and international cases
- Real Estate & Property Law – buying, selling, usufruct, lease
- Visas & Immigration – retirement, marriage, work permits
- Wills & Succession – Thai wills, international estates
- Business Law – company formation, BOI, contracts
- Marriage & Family Law – prenuptials, child custody

This Blog
This is a personal blog – not a law firm website. I write here about what I know and love: Thai law from an expat’s perspective, the food and travel culture of Isaan (northeast Thailand), and occasionally technology. Most posts are in English, many in French, and some in Thai.
I have been writing online since the late 1990s. This site is an archive of my observations over two decades of living in Thailand, from Korat to Chiangrai to Bangkok.
