Ruean Rojjana is conveniently located for visitors to Ayutthaya’s historic park, at the junction between Shikun and Naresuan Rd, about half way between Wat Ratburana and Wat Pra Mahathat ruins.

Ruean Rojjana (Ayutthaya) opened in 2004. There are a few tables outside, on a covered terrace on the road, for only about 10 people. Inside there is plenty of room and tables for about 120 people. One section is furnished with low tables, where you sit on the floor. Customers are especially foreign visitors to the Historical Park, including many Japanese tourists.

Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant dining experience here. We found the food mediocre and relatively expensive. Also, one dish we ordered did not correspond to what advertised on the menu. We complained and, after some insistence, got a discount because of that. For a better experience, we advise to try the nearby Malakor, if already open. Or else, take a cab to Chainam, on Pasak river.

We ordered “fried morning glory vegetables” (120 B), and the cheapest fried rice dish (80 B with chicken, see photos).
