Especially Thai food with a few Western dishes. Printed menu in Thai and English. View on historic park across the road, in particular on the Wat Ratburana ruins (from the southern side of the restaurant).
Malakor is a small restaurant, unpretentious in furnishing and service, but serving good food at a reasonable price, and located next to Ayutthaya’s historical park. It is set in a traditional Thai wooden house. Tables are all on the upper floor, partly on the covered terrace, partly inside. The terrace includes also a section with low tables where you sit on the floor. That’s the southern side, from where you also enjoy a view on Khmer ruins. Attached to that side of the restaurant, outside, there is a traditional Thai and foot massage saloon, also set in a wooden building.
Malakor’s current management started business in 2004. The restaurant can accommodate a maximum of about 36 people, mostly on the terrace.
We ordered chicken and galangal in coconut milk, stir fried mixed vegetables and a bowl of steamed rice (photos). It was delicious and we spent 140 B, tip included.
