Hua Hin Markets: Which One to Go to, and on Which Day

Under construction. Pictures to be added in a few days.

Hua Hin has a market for almost every day of the week. Some are built for visitors, with coupons, a stage and souvenir stalls. Others are where people from here buy fruit, fish and a bag of curry for dinner.

They don’t all open on the same days. And the hours you find online often don’t agree with each other.

I live on the coast between Cha-Am and Hua Hin. This is the working list: which market opens when, what it’s good for, and what recent visitors say about it.

Hours change. Check the market’s Facebook page or Google listing before you drive over.

Cicada Market (ตลาดจั๊กจั่น)

Cicada is the arty one. Handmade crafts, clothes, an art zone, and an open-air stage with music and street performers. Plus a food zone.

It’s at the entrance to Khao Takiab, in Suan Sri, right next to Tamarind. Most people do both on the same night.

Food is paid with coupons you buy at a counter. Craft stalls take cash or transfer. A 2025 Thai blogger and a December 2025 Google reviewer say unused coupons are refunded the same night. Entry is free.

A December 2025 Google reviewer found it “more ‘arty’ than the Tamarind Market next to it.” Same reviewer: prices are “a bit on the high side.”

  • Days and hours: Friday to Sunday, 16:00 to 23:00. Some listings close Sunday at 22:00 or 22:30.
  • Parking: free lot opposite, or private lots at about 50 baht.
  • Getting there: green songthaew toward Khao Takiab, about 15 baht. They reportedly stop around 20:00 to 21:00, so take Grab or Bolt back.

Tamarind Market (ตลาดแทมมารีน)

Right next door, and the opposite idea. Food first. Communal tables under big tamarind trees, and live music in the evening.

No coupons. You pay each vendor in cash. One 2026 guide says PromptPay QR works too. Most sources agree it’s cheaper than Cicada.

A November 2025 Google reviewer said it “does fill up very fast.” Come early for a table. A September 2025 reviewer called it “not tourist priced.”

  • Days and hours: usually Thursday to Sunday, 17:00 to 23:00, according to the municipality and Google. Some sources still say Friday to Sunday only.
  • Extra days on long weekends, Songkran and New Year.
  • Parking: car park beside the market, 50 baht.

Saphan Pla pier market (ถนนคนเดินสะพานปลาหัวหิน)

This is the one actually on the fishing pier, at the sea end of Soi Hua Hin 55. From the Hilton it’s about a 7-minute walk.

It’s small, just over 30 stalls. Seafood, street food, acoustic music, and tables facing the sea.

A July 2025 Google reviewer described “a line of bright yellow tables and chairs facing the open sea.” Google reviewers in 2025 also mention a bar at the end of the pier selling beer.

Grab drop-off at the pier is awkward, reviewers say. Get dropped nearby and walk.

  • Days and hours: recent sources say Thursday to Sunday, from around 17:00. Older ones say Friday to Sunday. Closing is usually given as 22:00 or 23:00.
  • Parking: a small fee, 20 or 40 baht depending on the source.

Hua Hin Night Market (ตลาดโต้รุ่งหัวหิน)

The classic downtown night market, on Dechanuchit Road near Soi 72. Not on the pier. But central, and open every night.

Street food, seafood restaurants, then clothes and bags. A Thai guide’s tip: seafood is sold by the kilo. Ask the price per kilo and watch it being weighed.

Google reviewers are mixed. One in December 2025 called it an “overpriced tasteless tourist trap,” but said the street stands beat the roofed area.

  • Days and hours: daily. Stalls are ready around 17:30, says the municipality. Closing is 23:00 or midnight.
  • Parking: street parking is hard. Park at Wat Hua Hin (20 baht) or near the railway station and walk.
  • Some blogs call this “Chatchai Night Market.” The real Chatchai Market is the daytime one below.

Chatchai Market (ตลาดฉัตรไชย)

The old fresh market on Phet Kasem Road, between Soi 72 and 74. Look for the row of seven arched roofs. Thai sources say it dates from 1926, under King Rama VII.

It’s a morning market. Go for breakfast: jok, patongko, soy milk. The province’s tourism page also points to dried squid, shrimp and shrimp paste to take home.

  • Days and hours: daily from 05:00. Closing is given as 16:00 or 18:00.
  • Parking: Wat Hua Hin, 20 baht.

Baan Khun Por (บ้านคุณพ่อ)

Less a market than a huge open-air food court on Soi Hua Hin 88, about a kilometre south of downtown. Hua Hin Today (August 2025) counts close to 100 stalls and about 1,000 seats. Local bands on weeknights, bigger Thai names on weekends.

Google reviewers in 2025 say you note your table number, order and pay at the stall, and the food comes to you. They mention a large Chang at 65 baht, tom yum at 130, mango sticky rice at 50.

An October 2025 Google reviewer called it “my favorite every day night market for vibes.” A Korean reviewer the same month found it cheap, but “the music is so loud it’s hard to have a conversation.” Fair warning.

  • Days and hours: daily, around 17:00 to 23:00. Some listings say midnight.
  • Address: Soi Hua Hin 88. One listing gives Soi 94, so check the map pin.

Hua Na Market (ตลาดนัดหัวนา)

This is the local one. An afternoon wet market on Phet Kasem Road in Nong Kae, across from Vana Nava water park. No coupons. No stage.

Fruit at the front. Then bagged Thai food, vegetables, meat, and live fish and prawns. Household stuff at the back.

Prices from an August 2025 Google review: 2 ripe mangoes for 10 baht, fried chicken thigh with sticky rice 30, a large coconut 25.

That reviewer saw many locals and few foreigners, and warned that the tarp roof is very low if you’re tall.

  • Days and hours: daily, roughly 14:00 to 20:00 (Google says from 16:00).
  • Parking: reviewers don’t agree. Motorbike or Grab is easier.

Pae Mai Tuesday Market (ตลาดนัดแพไม้)

The Tuesday answer. It’s on Khan Khlong Road, behind the railway, along the canal. A Thai local site calls it the biggest street-food walking street in Hua Hin, with more than 100 stalls and live music.

An October 2025 Google reviewer called it “the most affordable food prices from all the night markets in Hua Hin” and said the live music is “FIRE.” Another that month said dinner for two with two beers came to under 300 baht.

  • Days and hours: Tuesday, around 15:00 to 22:00. Some sources say it opens at 16:00. One 2026 hotel blog says Thursday too.

Also around

Rimlay Market, by the sea at Queen’s Park 19 Rai, is run by the municipality. It’s a weekend market, Friday and Saturday or Friday to Sunday depending on the source.

Sam Phan Nam Floating Market is a daytime one, about 15 km inland. It reopened in November 2024. Reports on the entry fee don’t agree.

Plearn Wan is closed. It shut for good in January 2020.
