The 100 Years Market (Talat Roi Pi) at night – a retro-style dining and shopping destination in Korat.
Talat Roi Pi: The 100 Years Market in Korat
Despite its name, the 100 Years Market (Thai: ตลาดร้อยปี, Talat Roi Pi) is not actually a century old. Built around 2015 on 3 rai of land, it was designed with a retro and vintage aesthetic to evoke the atmosphere of old Isaan, and it works beautifully. It has become one of the most popular evening destinations in Nakhon Ratchasima.
The site does have genuine historic roots. The owner reportedly rented out old wooden bungalows to American soldiers during the Vietnam War era. Those structures, genuinely around 100 years old, stood until 2011 before the land was sold and redeveloped into this market.
The vintage decor, old signs, antiques, and warm lighting, creates a nostalgic atmosphere unlike any modern mall.
What to Eat and Buy
The market is primarily a food destination. Dozens of stalls offer a full range of Isaan and central Thai dishes, with a notable concentration of fresh seafood and grilled fish in recent years. Highlights include:
Pla tap tim (red tilapia) grilled whole with herbs, about 180 THB, enough for two
Pla ka pong (barramundi) with spicy sauce and vegetables
Fresh snails, around 100 THB per plate
Beer: Chang and Leo are the cheapest, Singha slightly more
Evening food stalls, grilled fish, seafood, and Isaan dishes.
Beyond food, the back section of the market displays a quirky collection of “antiques”: old mobile phones, vintage pedicabs, classic cars, and retro signage. It’s part museum, part prop set.
Old cars, vintage signs and curiosities fill the back section of the market.
