Chang House opened in 2003. It is located in the popular farang street or backpackers street, day and night meeting place for foreign tourists and residents in Ayutthaya. It can accommodate about 50 customers, partly inside (with A/C) and partly outside. In January, 2010, it opened a Tourist Information section attached to the restaurant, with three more fast speed Internet stations (30 B/hour). The Tourist Information Office opens everyday from 08:00 to 22:00.

Customers are especially, but not only, foreign tourists staying in nearby guesthouses, and foreign residents in Ayutthaya. Thai people looking for Indian food also like to come here. The general atmosphere is particularly warm and friendly, giving the idea of an old-friends party going on all the time. We were told that sometimes the party continues behind closed doors, after closing time.

One evening we had dinner here. We ordered fried noodles with soya sauce, panang curry and a small bowl of steamed rice, as in the picture on this page. We spent 150 B, tip included.
