This guesthouse in a small soi off Jetyod Road has been open for about 1 year and so still provides a fresh and clean atmosphere and good value for money. Staff are professional and speak excellent English which makes checking in easy as pie.

The guesthouse offers 15 double and twin rooms at 450/night across the board. Each room is air-conditioned but also comes with a fan for extra cooling, or as an alternative to the aircon for cool Chiang Rai winter nights. All rooms include attached private bathrooms with heated showers, satellite t.v. and wireless internet. In the lobby free coffee, tea and cocoa are available and there are a couple of computers for customers to use for free.

Orchids is quite centrally located but is still quiet despite being a stone’s throw from busy Jetyod Road. One of the best features of this guesthouse is the central area between their 2 blocks of rooms, which can hold up to 3 cars for safe overnight parking (or else plenty of motorcycles). This is a great alternative to parking on the street.

As usual in Chiang Rai, the guesthouse also offers trekking and sightseeing tours, cheap laundry service (20THB/kg), airport transfers, as well as motorcycle, can, and jeep rental. Lately Orchids has become popular with Thai travelers and it’s therefore important to book ahead either by phone or email to make sure you get a room for your stay.
